Promises Made ... Promises Kept!

As a Rochester City Councilman, I have done the following:
Reduced City Taxes while maintaining high quality services.

Ended costly no-bid government contracts by insisting on open bidding of contracts and leading the effort to revise city ordinances to require future open bidding.

Increased Government Transparency by leading efforts to enact an ordinance that requires entities that receive tax dollars to produce financial disclosures, televising City Council meetings for the first time, and increasing resident access to information on the city website.

Created Main Street Outdoor Dining in Downtown Rochester by pushing to obtain approval from the State of Michigan to allow restaurants to offer outdoor dining to their customers.

Increased Safety for Children by leading efforts to have school bus stop locations marked for easy identification during winter snow plow operations.

Addressed the concerns of residents by having a much needed and long overdue stop sign placed in a residential neighborhood.

Been unafraid to stand up for what is right by publicly opposing a proposed $40 million development that was unwisely structured and not in the best interest of the taxpayers. Oakland Press Article: “Questions about DDA’s action must be addressed (Legacy).” (Click here)

During my time on the City Council, Rochester has received considerable
national and local recognition:
